Right now I'm home with my folks, so I have wi-fi, but back at my apartment I don't get any Internet access at all if I don't have my modem. To make matters worse, my laptop's motherboard had to be replaced recently, so I can't exactly ask for a new modem right now. Well, I can, but I'd feel guilty.
On the plus side, I managed to study for a full fourty-five minutes yesterday. I made no progress today, though. I'm pathetic, I know.
Also, is anyone interested in reading an ASoIaF/Harry Potter crossover? I kinda started writing one today. Sorting the characters into the various Houses proved to be a difficult task, because they're not one-dimensional at all (unlike other characters of another series I could mention), but so far I've got:
In Gryffindor: Ned, Cat, Robert, Lyanna, Asha, Robb, Dany, Theon, Arya, Gendry, Hot Pie, Sansa, Bran
In Hufflepuff: Stannis, Jorah, Davos, Lysa, Edmund, Meera, Jeyne, Tommen, Jojen, Robin
In Ravenclaw: Doran, Oberon, Arianne, Arys Oakheart, Renly, Loras, Jon, Sam, Margaery, Myrcella, Tristan
In Slytherin: Cersei, Jaime, Tyrion, Bronn, Shae, Gregor, Sandor, Joffrey, Lancel, Podrick
Professors: Tywin (Headmaster), Blackfish, the Old Bear, Walder Frey, Olenna Tyrell, Varys, Illyrio, Pycelle, Barristan Selmy, Alliser Thorne, Syrio Forell, Aemon
Yes, Hot Pie's a Gryffindor. I wanted Arya to have her old gang back. Jon's gang is also with him in Ravenclaw. Irri, Jhiqui and Doreah are with Dany in Gryffindor. Jeyne Poole is in Gryffindor with Sansa as well. Margaery's girl posse is in Ravenclaw. The Freys are either Slytherins or Hufflepuffs.
Anyway, my reasoning behind this sorting is that certain members of the certain families should be in the same House. Thus, the Greyjoys are in Gryffindor because of their impulsiveness, and the Starks because of their goodness and righteousness. The Martells and the Tyrells are Ravenclaws because both families are intelligent tacticians, rather than outright fighters. Renly is a Ravenclaw because Loras is and it just feels like the right place for him. As for Stannis being a Hufflepuff, well... I think he is loyal and hardworking and determined... to a fault. Lysa and Edmund are Hufflepuffs because they're both loyal to their respective causes, as are Meera and Jojen. Dunno about Jorah, honestly. Finally, The Lannisters' being in Slytherin needs not be explained, I think. Myrcella and Tommen are in different Houses for now, but I'm not sure I'll keep it that way. The same goes for Podrick; he's a Slytherin out of family duty (I'd imagine he begged the hat to put him there), but he's more of a Gryffindor or a Hufflepuff.
In this AU, Ned and Cat are Head Boy and Head Girl, and they're dating and they're happy and don't judge me, OK? Brandon has left Hogwarts, and Benjen's in... Durmstrang or something? IDK.
Robert used to be Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, until he suffered an injury involving a boar. Robb's replaced him. Meanwhile, Stannis and Renly are both Prefects and Captains of their respective Quidditch teams. Jaime is Captain of his team. Joff and Arya are Seekers, and hate each other's guts.
Robb is dating Jeyne Westerling, who is a Hufflepuff Prefect. Jon is emo over not being in the same house as the rest of his family.
The Wildlings are in Durmstrang and so are most of the Dothraki. Rhaegar and Elia have left Hogwarts and are currently living in Wizarding London. Rhaegar is still cheating on her with Lyanna.
Thoughts? Who do you think should teach every subject? How would you sort the characters in ASoIaF?
